If the BBC iPlayer app isn't available or supported on your device, there may still be ways for you to enjoy our programmes.
On a TV device
Head to the following page to find information about supported devices you can purchase to connect to your existing TV: Help with choosing a device to connect to your existing TV.
On an Android or Amazon Fire device
Your device will need to be running Android 7 and above, or Fire OS 6 and above to use the BBC iPlayer app. If it's running an earlier version of Android or Fire OS, you might be able to update it. If your device is unable to install the iPlayer app, you may be able to use the website.
First, check what version of Android or Fire OS your device is running.
- Android:
- Go to Settings
- Tap About phone / About device
- Then tap Android Version
- Amazon Fire:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen
- Open the Quick Settings menu
- Go to More > Device > About
Then, check if an update is available.
- Android: Go to Settings > About phone / About device > Update > Check for Updates
- Amazon Fire: Go to Settings > Device options > System updates > Check now
On an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
You can install the latest BBC iPlayer app on devices running iOS 15.5 and above. If your device is running an earlier version of iOS, you can still use the BBC iPlayer website. Just head to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer on your Safari browser.
